ARTICLE 7 – COMMITTEES
          7.1. Nominating Committee. The corporation shall have a Nominating Committee, comprised of three members of the corporation, who shall nominate officers for the elections to be held at each national conference. The President of the corporation shall appoint the members of the Nominating Committee.
 
The Nominating Committee has been appointed the duty of finding four individuals to serve on the National Association of Southern Baptist Secretaries 2011/2013 Board of Directors. They will  need to select/nominate the following officers.
 
1)     President – Is traditionally selected from the present board of directors. This places a person on the upcoming board that has experience and knowledge of the workings of the board of directors, etc. This individual should be a people person and a natural leader. One that can see all sides, listen, and make fair and good choices, that reflect what is best for NASBS and more importantly the members of NASBS, etc. This person should have a huge heart for NASBS and for people!
Her duties include, but are not limited to:
·        Presiding at the board of directors meetings
·        Leading in planning of the national meeting
·        Presiding at the 2013 National Meeting
·        Promoting the NASBS organization
 
2)     Vice President Membership – Ideally would be an individual that is organized, pays attention to details, and stays up to date with her work, etc. This individual will have the NASBS membership laptop, which has the Power Church Plus software on it, which is the software that NASBS is using for its membership data, etc.
Her duties include, but are not limited to:
·        Keeping records of member renewals & new members
·        Mailing membership packets and reminder cards/notices for renewals
·        Forward all monies collected from memberships to the NASBS Secretary-Treasurer
·        Supply labels to publicity vice president for newsletter mailings
·        Help in planning the 2013 National Meeting
·        Presiding in the absence of the president
·        Promoting the NASBS organization
 
3)     Vice President Publicity – This individual should have experience in producing top notch publications. She should strive to put out the best newsletters, brochures, notebooks, etc. as possible. She should be an individual that wants her work to be as “perfect” as possible! She should be able to take suggestions from others as well as want others to critique her work, etc.
Her duties include, but are not limited to:
·        Producing & mailing quarterly newsletters
·        Producing NASBS membership brochures
·        Producing NASBS letterhead for officers use
·        Help in planning the 2013 National Meeting
·        Promoting the NASBS organization
 
 
4)     Secretary-Treasurer – This person should have experience in the correct procedures of handling money and producing income/expense statements and financial reports. She should keep detailed information on all monies incoming and outgoing. Ideally she would be an individual that has served or is serving her organization as their financial ministry assistant, and has knowledge of financial procedures, laws, etc.
Her duties include, but are not limited to:
·      Receiving and processing membership dues
·      Utilize the NASBS Power Church Plus software to do her bookkeeping; she will have the NASBS financial laptop
·      Receive and process registration fees for meetings as necessary
·      Produce monthly financial reports for the board of directors
·      Produce financial reports for the NASBS membership according to the by laws
·      Disburse funds according to policy and procedure of the bylaws and the NASBS board of directors
·      Help in planning the 2013 National Meeting
·      Promoting the NASBS organization
 
Any member of NASBS can submit suggestions of person(s) to the Nominating Committee for them to be considered as an NASBS officer for the 2011-2013 term.
